RAF Section Activities
Not only this, but RAF Cadets also take part in dry
weapons training initially moving from the .22 shot rifle to the SA80 – a
weapon that the armed forces use. You will have full army training on how to
look after the weapon, but more importantly how to use it safe There is also an opportunity to sail with the Royal
Navy
Section. Bridlington School CCF has frequently qualified
into the Nation Ground Training Competition. This is where the top 12 CCF RAF Sections in
the country compete in all disciplines such as;
The RAF Section is lucky
enough to have ties to RAF Akrotiri, Cadets also have the
opportunity two take part in military modules test that enable cadets to
progress through the ranks. The tests are based on military knowledge, many
on the subjects mentioned above. The information is taught by Senior Cades. Strangely, RAF Cades are
able to take part in all the sections’ activities; such as sailing, shooting,
etc, but cadets in the RN & Navy are unable to attend RAF Camps, Fly or
visit RAF Akrotiri. Ranks Cadets have the
opportunity to progress from the rank of Cadet to Flight Sergeant, or even
Warrant Officer if they are selected for the title of Head of Corps (HoC) – a
position that grants a great deal of responsibility and respect from both
Officers and Cadets. Officers in the CCF have Commissions from the
Queen, and share the same respect as regular officers; hence the reason why
all CCF officers are to be saluted. RAF officers hold the ranks from Flying
Officer to Wing Commander, who generally holds the title of Contingent
Commander. |
